- Lay out what you think you need, then take half

- Pack enough in your carry-on to get you through if your luggage doesn't show up
- Roll your clothes
- Keep your meds with you at all times. Pack extra to cover travel delays or unplanned detours
- Use zip-top bags to separate and compress types of clothing
- Seal your cosmetics and lotions in a zip-top bag before packing
- Use two smaller suitcases rather than one large one due to the airline weight restrictions; doing this will also help you in case one gets lost
- Pack clothing you can mix and match, using two main colors (purple and red, of course)
- Pack things inside other things (stuff undies or socks into shoes)
- Check with your hotel to see if hair dryers are provided; if yes, leave yours at home
- Separate delicate items with tissue paper.
- Pack a laundry bag for dirty clothes
- Take a travel umbrella
- Pack a flashlight
- Pack a travel candle or air freshener for that not-so-fresh room
- Pack underwear, and throw it away after every use so you have room for your new stuff
- Pack way ahead of time, then take out what you realize you won't need
- Pack your suitcase, then place it inside another suitcase if you are a shopper and buy souvenirs
- Wrap breakable items between clothing
- Never check your laptop, digital camera, medicine, jewelry or traveler's checks
- Pack less and do more laundry
- Don't forget to take a wig if you wear wigs
- Write down your contact information and phone numbers; do not store them in your phone
- Bring snacks
- Start out with no carry-on and pack a tote in your suitcase
- Follow the traveler's code; one to wear, one to wash
- Take an eyeglass repair kit and a little sewing kit. You may also want to take a copy of your eyeglasses prescription.
- Think disposable
- Tie a bright ribbon or large colorful luggage tag on your suitcase so you can easily identify it on the baggage carousel
- Pack each outfit complete with accessories in a zip-top bag to make things easy to find
- Pack your suitcase and carry it to the car. If you can't carry it, it's too heavy. Repack.
- Pack nylon underwear. It dries quickly.
- Keep a list of your medication names, dosages, and doctors' names available.
- Keep a "wrinkles free" spray
- Always put a large piece of paper with your name, address, cell phone number and destination in each checked bag. If it gets lost, your luggage just might find you.
