TASTE OF THE GRAPE & VETRO GLASS
Tour duration - 4 Hours
Did you know that Grapevine Texas has seven wineries with tasting rooms and is becoming a nationally known wine region? Well today you will experience first hand the quaint wine region of Grapevine in the tasting rooms, on classic Main Street in Grapevine. First we will tour and taste in two of Grapevine's most well renowned wineries.
La Buena Vida Vineyards winery tasting room, located in Grapevine's Historic District, officially opened for business in April 1995. Located in an old church building, La Buena Vida invites visitors to the tasting room to enjoy their fountains, English flower and herb gardens and a small demonstration vineyard as well as their award winning champagnes, ports and wines.
Cross Timbers Winery Tasting Room is located in the historic Brock Farm. After the Civil War, this historic property was owned by Dr. Dorris, Grapevine's beloved pioneer physician, before he built his beautiful Victorian home on East College Street. Later the home of the Brock Family, many of the early traces of the farm and life on the Grape Vine Prairie can still be found here. The Brock Farm is being lovingly restored for its new use by local resident and winemaker, Don Bigbie.
From the wineries we will travel down Main Street to Vetro Glass located at the Train Station. Historic Grapevine is home to a group of artists who practice an innovative art form - glass blowing. Vetro Contemporary Glassblowing studio will have an hour demonstration of artists at work in this fascinating art form. Guests will be talked through the process as well as watching an artist create a piece. After the session guests will have a chance to purchase artwork from the co-op or order custom pieces should they so choose? Afterwards we will have time to shop on Main Street.
